A Tasty bit of Transcendentalism

Emerson

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 1 1/2 oz Gin
  • Juice of 1/2 Lime
  • 1 tsp. Maraschino liqueur (a key ingredient in the Hemingway Daiquiri)

Mixing instructions:

Shake all ingredients with ice, strain into a cocktail glass, and serve.

It’s probably more tasty than transcendental. But if you have the Maraschino, it’s probably worth a taste.

The above was written by M. I think it was very tasty even though it is named after a male chauvinist. The wife’s role in the life of the self-reliant man? His helper. Yes, she is to help him be self-reliant. Unfortunately, my American Literature Professor father said that doesn’t mean the wife is to leave her self-reliant husband to do his own laundry, sewing, cooking, cleaning, shopping, etc. No, she is to do all of those mundane things for him so he has more time to be self-reliant in his thoughts and ideas. Yeah.

I need a drink.

  2. Mmmm, sounds good. the drink, that is.

Emerson always sounded like a chauvinist in those LM Alcott books in which he is referenced.

Lets just stick with the gin!

I love the header (the glass and broken glass). Perfect.
